There is much to discover in South Carolina! Many think of our majestic mountains, beautiful beaches, or stunning waterfalls. And yes, these all are attributes of this state. But for those cold or rainy days, there are also treasures to be found indoors. Once such treat is nestled in the heart of the city of Easley.
Poor Richard’s Bookstore on West Main Street is residing in the former location of Easley’s first public library – a fitting tribute! This shop for many decades has offered books to delight young and old. As a child, I recall working and saving my money for the express purpose of begging my mother to take me to Poor Richard’s and have the delight of climbing that flight of stairs and selecting which book would be added to my childhood collection. This bookstore is also known to house the works of local authors and hold book signings!
Next time you are in the area, among the lovely shops of Easley, be sure to stop by Poor Richard’s Bookstore! For more information about this shop and other bookstores, click here for the article “12 Indie Bookstores You’ll Never Want to Leave”.
