The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards hosted a monumental fundraising event for Cliffs Resident Outreach, a charitable organization benefitting the lives and education of Upstate children and their families.
Principal beneficiaries are Holly Springs Elementary School (a National Blue Ribbon School located approximately 10 miles from The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards) in Pickens County and the Tamassee DAR School in Oconee County (which is located just a few miles from The Cliffs at Keowee Falls communities).
Some of the programs supported by the CRO include Student and Family Nutrition, Student and Family Crisis, Educational Scholarships and Field Trips, School Hygiene Supplies, Technology and Student Achievement Incentives.
The “Amazing Race”, on an Australian Walkabout theme took place on August 8th, 2015, with ten teams of five members each participating in a number of challenges throughout the course of the day.
In the evening, the “Party in the Outback” was held in an air-conditioned tent set up in front of the Vineyards Clubhouse. Decorations were Australian-themed and included an ice sculpture, eucalyptus displays in koala-bear shaped vases, and beautiful succulent planters on each table, which were available as part of the silent auction.
The Cliffs’ Executive Chef, Francis Turck provided an Aussie-based gourmet dinner featuring Hickory Smoked Tasmanian Ocean Trout, Grilled Australian Lamb Chops with Fresh Rosemary and Grain Mustard, Grilled Shrimp on the Barbi, Crocodile Bites with Remoulade Sauce, Deconstructed Grilled Vegetables, a Gourmet Mashed Potato Bar, Imported Cheese Table and Boomerang Chocolate Decadence Dessert Bar.
