Tickets are on sale now for the golfing charity event of the season! The BMW Charity Pro-AM is the only golf tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with professionals for the three-ball competition! Held from June 10th through the 13th, this tournament was created by The South Carolina Charities, Inc, a non-profit foundation of the BMW Charity Pro-Am, to raise money and awareness for a variety of South Carolina charities while also showcasing the beauty of the Upstate.
The 2021 event will rotate between two golf courses in the area – Thornblade Club and the Cliffs Valley. Initial rounds of competition are held on Thursday and Friday for both amateur and celebrity teams. From there, winners compete on Saturday and then final winners compete on Sunday.
The event is a huge draw for our area with over 40,000 people attending! It’s been estimated that this one tournament will generate almost half a milllion dollars in revenue to the local area. Proceeds collected from tickets will benefit multiple charities throughout the Upstate, including Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute, Cliffs Residents Outreach, Roper Mountain Science Center, and Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, among others.
While tickets to compete are sold out, you can still purchase tickets to watch! If you are military or a first responder, they are offering as a special thank-you four daily credentials as well as two tickets to the Military and First Responders Skybox on Saturday, June 12th and Sunday, June 13th.
