It is that time of year – ice skating in the Upstate has returned! We’ve got all the top skating rinks, so lace us your blades and let’s go!
Greenville
Look no further for a picturesque outdoor skating experience than “Ice on Main.” Tucked in front of Courtyard Marriott, on Village Green in Downtown Greenville, the rink is outside, surrounded by lighted trees and decorations, creating a perfect holiday event. The rink will be available until the 19th of January next year. As there are only 30 skaters per each hour session allowed, you might want to purchase your tickets ahead of time to ensure you and your group are able to take a spin around the rink. If your toes get too chilly, you can always purchase a cup of hot chocolate to warm you up! And remember, spectators are free – so for all the grandparents wanting to just film little ones taking a spin, come on!

Anderson
Holiday Ice at Carolina Wren Park in Anderson is another great open-air skating rink set up for the holiday season. Running December 3rd through January 17th, there is a larger rink for 7+, as well as a smaller, kiddie rink for younger kids. For this rink, hours fluctuate more by day of week and holidays, so make sure to carefully take a look at their hours when planning your trip. There are no advanced, online tickets for this rink so show up and have fun! Tickets range from $3-5 depending on age.
Spartanburg typically also has an outdoor rink, called Skating on The Square, that they open every year. Unfortunately, for 2021 the event is cancelled, citing supply issues.
No matter what your plans include, we hope you stay safe and warm during your wintery activities!
