With Thanksgiving this week, many homes are already being decked out for the Christmas season, right around the corner. If you enjoy having the tradition or want to start experiencing the fun of “choose and cut” at a Christmas Tree Farm, you have many options in the area. In Upstate South Carolina, you can go to the aptly named “Merry Christmas Tree Farm” in Norris. Free hot chocolate and coffee is offered if you go on a chilly day and need some motivation to go out there and cut your tree! The “Mile Creek Farm & Produce” of Six Mile offers trees and wreaths plus produce where no pesticides are used.
In the Cashier, North Carolina area, you have the “Tom Sawyer’s Christmas Tree Farm” with over 80 acres of Fraser Firs. They also have the Elf Village for children to make crafts and write letters to Santa!
Closer to Asheville is the “Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm” of Waynesville. Located just a few miles off I-40, this location makes for an easy drive but still provides the stunningly beautiful trees. Also in Waynesville is the “Mehaffey Tree Farm”. This is just a sampling of the many wonderful and local tree farms of the area to make memories for this Christmas season!
