The Cliffs Communities are well sought after for their seamless blending of luxury homes and world-class amenities within breathtaking natural surroundings. Many of their Lake Keowee and South Carolina communities offer not only golfing, dining, and boating, but also miles of beautiful trails for avid outdoorsmen to enjoy. From beginners to the most experienced hikers, there are great trails at Cliffs communities for all to enjoy.
One of our favorite trails is at The Cliffs at Mountain Park. This luxury community is located just 20 minutes outside of Greenville and is close to all of the natural amenities the Upstate SC has to offer. Within their own grounds is a wonderful winding path that takes you through the deep woods of The Cliffs at Mountain Park. This trail runs about 4.5 miles in one direction, for a total of 9 miles full loop.
The Outdoor Pursuits Team at The Cliffs works hard to keep their trails in ship-shape and easy to follow, but we would rank the trail itself likely moderate in its difficulty.
The path itself is nothing short of breathtaking and serene. Flanked with a flowing creek running next to you almost the entire way, hikers are constantly surrounded by robust rhododendrons and azaleas. Well-kept bridges are woven throughout to get you through. Even your four-legged friends are sure to enjoy the adventure as well!
At the end of the path (4.5 miles), is the Greene Pond Pavilion. The pavilion is highly private and nestled deep into the woods. The pond, or shall we say small lake, is great for fishing off the pier or bringing out those kayaks. If you aren’t up for the hike, a dirt road can take you straight there. The pavilion is fully equipped with restrooms, picnic tables, and a large fire pit for grilling. This hidden gem in The Cliffs at Mountain Park is a perfect exploration on a sunny spring day.
